Rejection Collection

I'm inspired after reading Catherine Wald's fantastic collection, "The Resilient Writer: Tales of Rejection and Triumph from 23 Top Authors." Some of my favorite authors, including Wally Lamb and Amy Tan, talk about their struggles with launching a successful writing career. Lamb tells the story of how after years of rejection he accidentally submitted a story twice to the same literary journal. The first time they said "no" the second time "yes." Of course, the story was the same, but it's a great reminder that we can't take rejection personally. Sometimes it's all about luck. By the way, he landed his agent after the story appeared in print.
