Reviving the Blog

Dan has asked me to revive the blog, so I'm going to try and be more vigilant about posting. After all, I am now officially a webmaster at the Sierra Club, so I'm learning more about the power of the Web.

Today is a soggy day in San Francisco. My little black ballerina flats are soaked. I miss my pink galoshes that I thoughtlessly abandoned on the corner of Broadway and 122nd Street before I left NYC. (if anyone has them, I'll pay for the shipping to Cali.!)

A man with a very long, grey, stringy beard sat next to me on Muni this morning. I found this annoying since half the bus was empty. When he said "hello" to me 30 seconds into the ride, I ignored him. While that may seem rude, I actually think it's worse to try and engage people in conversation at 8:30 in the morning when they have no ESCAPE! He promptly gave up on me, and headed for an empty seat in the back.
The woman who replaced him a few stops later scolded the man who was standing in front of her--claiming he was in her "space." If she wants "space" why doesn't she take a taxi? I am thinking of writing a muni etiquette book. If you have any suggestions for what to include, please send them to me.
