Talk Radio
If you've ever wondered why so many shock jocks flame out and derail their own careers, check out Broadway's production of Talk Radio. Liev Schreiber plays Barry Champlain, a hard living call-in host of Night Talk. He's getting great reviews in the role and he deserves them. (I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to put on that kind of performance eight or nine times a week) Wouldn't the snot and tears eventually dry up?
I sat in the second row yesterday afternoon and like everyone around me was transfixed. During the hour and forty minutes their was no intermission, (no coughers or paper rattlers, or cell phone talkers.)
With the recent news about Imus, the play is more timely than ever.
